Working with Minors

As you embark on the journey of creating experiences for youth, it's essential to first understand the guidelines for working with minors. This section is designed to help you navigate the many important considerations when interacting with and hosting minors, ensuring compliance with both state laws and university policy.

Definitions

  • Student Organization: All recognized student organizations including voluntary student organizations (including club sports teams), fraternities, and sororities.
  • Student Leader: A student with a formal position of responsibility to make decisions or plan events on behalf of the organization. This position may be elected or appointed. The responsibilities should be listed in the organization constitution and be on file with the Office of Student Engagement.
