J.I.D and Samara Cyn Headline Stanford Blackfest 2026

On Sunday May 3rd, Frost Amphitheater hosted Stanford's Blackfest, a local music festival that brings the Stanford community together. The Black Family Gathering Committee student org emphasized that the event is more than just a concert; it is a dedicated space for connection, featuring local vendors and displays by artists in the community. By offering free access to major artists like J.I.D. and Samara Cyn, the festival ensures that high-quality live music remains accessible to all Stanford students.

A major highlight of the programming was the showcase of Stanford’s Divine Nine, highlighting the rich history and cultural impact of historically Black sororities and fraternities. Stanford Fraternity and Sorority Life (FSL) used the stage to educate the student body on their missions of service and advocacy. Through creative step routines and historical storytelling, these organizations demonstrated how student-led groups can blend tradition with modern expression to foster deeper campus understanding.

For student leaders, Blackfest serves as a prime example of how thoughtful event planning and community-focused partnerships can create a lasting impact that resonates far beyond the Stanford campus. We look forward to what the  Black Family Gathering Committee have in store for us in 2027!
